SOPHCO SYSTEMS has developed expertise which clients can call on as a strategic resource when considering or undertaking projects involving multiple areas of complexity. We have been major partners on projects involving the successful deployment of novel and bespoke hardware including:

and have developed skills in the accompanying programming languages and operating system environments including C, C++, Visual Basic and Visual Basic Scripting.

The projects we have undertaken have exposed us to many of today's current technologies including bar code driven data gathering and its deployment both at the point of sale and in office information system applications, SMS message servers and the PC - telephone interaction including Interactive Voice Response (IVR) call flow and script design, data gathering by field based staff using both portable PCs ("tablets") and bar code scanners and the development of resident and control software for a range of personal and portable computing devices including PDAs and the C-Pen.

Our main role is as an additional resource which companies can call on to address either very specific skill needs or where problems need to be solved. Our strengths lie in developing applications software intended for use on dedicated and novel hardware platforms and where differing development techniques need to interact.

While retaining a strong connection with the traditional systems development approach, the company is actively involved with client server architected solutions based on the multi tier model. Our preferred solution to the requirements of the user interaction or presentation tier is based on a combination of dynamic HTML with XML encoded transactions supported by JAVA and ActiveX components.

We can deploy extensive skills in the application of Visual Basic and C/C++ to the encoding of business rules and enterprise process sets for our applications. All our products integrate seamlessly with popular desktop applications. Our database of choice is Microsoft SQL but we have considerable experience of other similar data management technologies including INFORMIX and legacy system datasets based on ISAM/C-ISAM.

We have wide experience of data driven applications incorporating barcode and text scanning techniques and can successfully develop telephony applications where IVR technology is joined to web based systems. Other areas of special expertise include the development of systems with significant communications components and the application of workflow automation techniques together with electronic forms.
