The latest  DATATIME module - PopUp^SDIO - is available for use on any Personal Digital Assistant (PDA)* running the Microsoft^® PocketPC^® operating system.

PopUp^SDIO on your PDA is a fully featured, barcode scanner* driven, version of the DATATIME PopUp^PDA module with full time record entry, search, pause, resume and editing facilities just like you are used to on your personal computer and which includes the ability to record disbursements and notes.

Used in combination with the DATATIME PC-PDA Toolbox**, a powerful suite of supporting software routines we have developed to enhance the link between PDA devices and our software systems, you can be sure that the applications and supporting data files loaded onto your PDA are always up to date and that PopUp^SDIO on your PDA will download your time transactions straight into DATATIME ready for confirmation. The PC-PDA toolbox software is an integral part of  PopUp^SDIO and is supplied at no additional cost.

The growth in the power and capabilities of PDAs - making them, for many users, a realistic alternative to full specification notebook PCs - means that many of our DATATIME users are already considering putting these increasingly indispensable devices to work in their daily routine.

PopUp^SDIO will be particularly attractive to people who spend large parts of their working day out of the office, possibly already using a PDA to access other computer applications and databases and will prove invaluable to those users looking to reduce the need to carry paper files, manual diary and address book etc. Using the powerful processor built into today's PDA and the automatic synchronisation software ActiveSync, PDA users can take their diaries, contact lists, to-do lists and other crucial personal information resources with them simply by placing the PDA in its cradle whenever they are at their desk.

On leaving - for meetings, conference etc - simply picking-up the PDA and taking it with you ensures that you have an up-to-date, complete copy of your Microsoft Outlook files and application databases.

The increasing degree of connectability built into PDAs - including Bluetooth, WiFi, multi-band mobile phone and IrDA infra red - means that the data you are carrying around with you can be constantly updated and sent back to your office systems and email and SMS messages arrive at your PDA in the same time they take to get to your network connected office PC.

PopUp^SDIO will quickly and reliably scan the barcodes identifying your cases and activities, entering the details accurately and immediately into the appropriate fields on the PopUp^PDA data entry forms, eliminating the need to use the stylus while ensuring that all data entered is accurate and error free.

PopUp^SDIO can be used in conjunction with the other forms of data capture that DATATIME supports (C-Pens, direct PC entry and manual timesheets) providing professional staff with an easy to use and flexible time recording solution.

*PDAs we have tested for compatability with the Socket InHand SDIO Scanner include the Hewlett Packard® iPAQ® series model numbers 1740, 1940, 2210, 4150 and H5550 models. Please contact us if you are considering a PDA from another manufacturer. **PopUpSDIO  and the accompanying PC-PDA Toolbox uses Microsoft® ActiveSync® which is currently supplied free of charge with the operating system software on your PocketPC compatible PDA. Lotus Notes users and users of other Personal Information Management software such as Star Office can achieve similar results using proprietary synchronisation software products such as IntelliSync®, IBM Lotus EasySync Pro or Commontime mNotes.
