DATACARE addresses the specific requirement of home care providers
for an easy to implement, easy to use time recording, costing and billing
system which needs minimal manual effort and administration to operate.
DATACARE maintains accurate records of care workers' activities and costs
without the heavy expense of manual time sheet completion, data capture and
storage.
Data capture - by the carer in the field - is provided by the PopUpSDIO our very latest addition to our range of data
capture options based around the increasingly popular personal digital
assistant ("PDA") and a lightweight, simple-to-add
barcode scanner.
Carers equipped with the PopUpSDIO are in two-way communication (via their mobile phone
- see below) with their office and client and job details can be sent to the
carer's PopUpSDIO in real time advising them of changes to their schedule, new clients and
changes in clients' care requirements.
An alternative approach to in-field data capture is provided by our C-Pen
barcode scanning technology.
Care workers simply scan a barcode** identifying the client (usually
permanently located at the client's home for added system security).
Additional, User designed barcodes can also be wiped at any time identifying the activities
carried out for the client. The
PopUpSDIO
or
C-Pen automatically records date and
arrival and departure times to build a comprehensive record of all activities
undertaken and how long it took to carry them out.
DATACARE immediately provides full
analysis and management information reporting with no further manual or
clerical intervention or effort. Holiday, expenses, mileage and other data are
also recorded using the
PopUpSDIO
or
C-Pen and downloaded via the mobile
phone link.
* The
PopUpSDIO
can connect to the home office network automatically and wirelessly
via Bluetooth. For users with PDAs that contain built-in Bluetooth and
mobile phone connectivity - like the
HP iPAQ
Pocket PC h6340 - sending and receiving data while out of the office is
automatic. For users with other PDA models, simply placing the
PopUpSDIO in proximity to
a Bluetooth equipped mobile phone establishes the connection. Users with
non-Bluetooth enabled mobiles can use infra-red or direct serial cable connections to achieve
the connection.
C-Pens use an infra red link common to many models of mobile phone to
communicate via any one of the mobile telephone networks. Updating the data
held within the C-Pen is done during weekly team meetings or other scheduled
visits by care workers to their offices or support locations.
** C-Pens can also read good quality, machine printed
text (produced on any ordinary office laser or inkjet printer)
comprising letters and/or numbers thereby removing any need to print
barcodes or re-label files enabling clients to use existing paper
records and systems.
DATACARE includes a comprehensive suite of fully parameterised
management information reports providing analysis by client, care worker,
department, category, activity, patch team and so on. In addition our powerful
spreadsheet interface and Windows report generator driven by an SQL database
containing all the information held in the DATACARE system allow any selection of data
to be exported from DATACARE for further analysis and presentation.
All
reports can be produced using a variety of selection and sort criteria.
DATACARE will interface with existing financial accounting and payroll
systems.
