As a fee earning professional wanting to capture billing information or health worker etc simply wanting to keep track of who you have seen, you will be very familiar with the demands of manual record keeping; traditionally represented by the dreaded timesheet. The C-Pen revolutionizes the keeping of attendance and activity records, freeing its users from the daily chore of finding and filling in their timesheet. Not much bigger than a fountain pen, the C-Pen - with its powerful on-board micro processor and brilliant display screen - will not only automatically record your time and activity records but will tell you, at the press of a button, how much work you have done, who you have seen or the name etc of the files and projects you have worked on and for those that live by their fee earning, the value of fees earned to date.
The C-Pen will also scan any typewritten material and automatically convert it into text via its powerful OCR software. The resulting text files can be loaded directly into your workstation based word processing system (Microsoft Word, for example) for further processing. Gathering and recording precedents becomes a simple task of scanning the text you wish to record. No more subsequently unintelligible notes! And for those that work in our increasingly multi-lingual world, the on-board dictionaries will immediately translate any scanned word from one language to another. With the C-Pen the days of punching in your time records are over. The C-Pen has both serial and infra red (IrDa) interfaces allowing all the data you have captured (it can store up to 8mb) to be transmitted directly into your host computer systems or desktop products (Microsoft® Word® etc) for further processing. We have developed a powerful set of Microsoft Windows compatible tools and routines which C-Pen users have at their disposal and which are invaluable for the management of both the distribution of the C-Pens as well as the contents of their software application library and data. These facilities, known as the C-Pen Toolbox, will set-up and manage your C-Pen, including their assignment to staff members, and control the upload/download data exchange through which the C-Pen is loaded with its applications and which it uses to send any data it gathers back to the host system.
The C-Pen Toolbox will also help your systems administration staff ensure that the applications loaded into your C-Pens are current and up to date. The toolbox will also interrogate the C-Pen ensuring that battery health, data interface etc are all in good working order. You can also use your C-Pen to transfer data via your mobile phone using its SMS (short message system or "texting" technology) interface. And you can store your office calendar and address book using the powerful synchronization features built into the C-Pen. The C-Pen can truly change your working life for the better.
